FIFA in total meltdown: Blatter and Platini suspended

International soccer was engulfed by a new crisis on Thursday as FIFA president Sepp Blatter and UEFA
president Michel Platini, the two most powerful men in soccer, were suspended from all soccer activities
for 90 days by FIFA’s ethics committee, leaving the sport reeling from scandals across the globe with a
power vacuum at the top. In line to replace Blatter until a new president is elected next February is Cameroonian Issa Hayatou,
the African confederation president, but it is not known if he wants to serve.
