The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar will be held from November to December, Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated is reporting.
According to Wahl, the FIFA executive committee will confirm the decision next month in Zurich after the FIFA task force debates the issue next week in Doha, the Qatari capital.

The move away from the traditional June and July World Cup schedule will be made to mitigate Qatar’s sweltering heat. Moving the World Cup had long been discussed as a solution for the issue of the summer climate in Qatar.

There’s no word yet on how the European league schedule will be affected, but there will surely be a break to accommodate the World Cup for the four-week period
